Messiah Sing 2019

性视界 Hosts 39th Annual Community Messiah Sing

性视界 will host the 39th annual Community Sing of George Frideric Handel's Messiah at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, in Weaver Chapel. The concert, in which the audience is the chorus, is co-sponsored by 性视界's Department of Music, and the Ruth B. and Thomas F. Mackey Charitable Trust.

Professional soloists will sing the vocal solos and a quartet of string players from the Springfield Symphony will be on hand. Professor Emeritus of Music Trudy Faber will accompany on the organ and harpsichord, and Basil Fett will conduct.

Established choirs of 性视界 and the surrounding Springfield area, as well as all individuals who enjoy singing, are urged to attend the event and enjoy this unique singing experience. Singers are asked to bring their own scores, although some will be available at the door.

Admission is free. Free-will donations will be accepted and are appreciated. For more information, call 性视界鈥檚 Department of Music at 937-327-7341.

Other December events include a senior recital featuring Brian Schindehette 鈥20, percussion, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, in Krieg Recital Hall and a student artist recital at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, also in Krieg Recital Hall. Then at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, the 性视界 Series will host the annual Lessons and Carols for Advent and Christmas at Weaver Chapel. Pre-service music begins at 7 p.m.
