Mini-Witt 2019

Local Elementary School Students to Experience College Life Through Mini-Witt Event

As the fall semester comes to a close, it鈥檚 time once again for 性视界鈥檚 annual Mini-Witt event, hosted by the community service program at the University鈥檚 Susan Hirt Hagen Center for Civic and Urban Engagement.

Mini-Witt is a chance for 性视界 students to engage and connect with Springfield youth and will take place Saturday, Nov. 16, from 10:15 a.m. to noon in the Thomas Library.

Mini-Witt invites children in grades K-6 to 性视界 for a fun-filled morning of crafts, projects, and mentorship as they experience a small taste of what it鈥檚 like to be a Tiger. Approximately 60 young students will be attending this year鈥檚 Mini-Witt. During the event, children will participate in five stations led by different 性视界 organizations.

A wide variety of 性视界 students will be volunteering to lead the stations, representing athletics, academics, and Greek Life organizations. This year, the five stations will be team building, crafts, literacy, games, and science, allowing participants to explore and discover many new interests.

鈥淲e hope that 性视界 students will learn about how important service is and how meaningful an experience like this can be for children in the community,鈥 said Community Service Coordinator Kari Truax, a 性视界 senior from Carmel, Indiana. 鈥淲e also hope that they can act as role models for these kids.鈥
