Lesotho 2022: Day 3 Reflections

Lumelang Family and Friends!

Woke up again today to a beautiful sunrise and ate a delicious breakfast all together. At the community center, we finished up organizing the library of donated books, painting the walls, and stacking LNI meal boxes that have been sent over the last year. Of the boxes we stacked, there was a total of 20,304 meals. At the habitat for humanity work site, the group worked on plastering the inside walls of the home, building a wall to separate the kitchen, and began working on the roof. After the work day was done, many of us went and played games that the local children taught us. Before dinner we spent some time reflecting on our day and learning about how HIV/AIDS has affected Lesotho. The conversation was both eye opening and heartbreaking as we have learned the hardships many of these people have faced.

We are all so grateful for the relationships we have built during our time here, both within the community and with one another, and it hasn鈥檛 even been a week! As we end our night, we are reflecting on how thankful we are to have this opportunity and we thank you all for the support. We hope your Monday has shined as brightly as the stars here in Ramabanta.

Sending love from across the Atlantic,
Ryleigh and Hannah
