Free Time and Wine!

Today was our last day on the Habitat sites. We combined our groups and worked on one house in order to respect the culture of the Basotho people, as they were laying their loved ones to rest. With lots of ear, nose, and mouth dirt, we nearly completed the house! As the work at our first major project came to a close, we had to say goodbye to the fast friends we've made this past week. This afternoon, we had time off, and people went in their own directions to read, enjoy the beautiful weather, explore Roma, play with the kids, and catch up on this week's "daily" journaling. Before dinner, we were able to taste the first wine made and bottled in Lesotho; it was even made in a rondavel in the Trading Post where we are staying! When the bottles went for sale, thirsty college students competed for the special wine; may the odds be ever in your favor. Tomorrow, we will enjoy more free time and some more guest speakers!

Love from around the world: Kristin, Jeanette, and Meredith (roomies)

Family and Gabe: I love and miss you all very much! I'm eating great! Mostly chicken, but I'm trying new things too (Guava)! Kara - you would love it here and I can't wait to show you the 463 pictures I've already taken! I'm having a fabulous time and will try to call you soon! Give Midnight and Digit a hug for me! XOXO - Kristin

Friends and family: I miss you greatly! Many times I have seen or laughed about something and have wished I could share it with you; trying many new foods, doing lots of physical labor (dad you would be proud), and the stars are amazing! Anyways, before I write a novel, I hope all is well in the states. Love you! xoxo Jeanette

Family & Bradley:  I hope all is well and I've been thinking about you a lot :) Can't wait to see you in 3 short weeks and share pictures and stories!  There are 4 dogs in the Trading Post where we are staying but none as sweet as Lola :) Talk to you soon! I love you all!!! xoxo Mer Mer
