Witt Series continues with Goldstein, Peled, Fiterstein Trio

Springfield, Ohio 鈥 性视界 will welcome the Goldstein, Peled, Fiterstein Trio for a concert as part of the 2016-17 性视界 Series at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in historic Weaver Chapel.

Longtime friends bound by their Israeli roots and summers shared in Vermont at the Marlboro Music Festival, trio members Alon Goldstein (piano), Amit Peled (cello) and Alexander Fiterstein (clarinet) perform recitals that reflect their special gifts and originality as soloists, as well as their sense of ensemble and love of chamber music.

Varied programs include such works as the Beethoven and Brahms Clarinet Trios, sonatas and solo works that demonstrate both the artists' virtuosity and musicality.

Goldstein is admired for his musical intelligence and dynamic personality. His artistic vision and innovative programming have made him a favorite with audiences and critics alike throughout the United States, Europe, South America and Israel.

Peled, a musician of profound artistry and charismatic stage presence, is acclaimed as one of the most exciting cellists on the concert stage today. He has performed as a soloist with many orchestras and in the world鈥檚 major concert halls.

Fiterstein is recognized for combining flawless technique and consummate musicianship with graceful phrasing and a warm, soulful tone. A recipient of the 2009 Avery Fisher Career Grant Award, he is a first-prize winner of the Carl Nielsen International Clarinet Competition and the Young Concert Artists International Auditions.

Now in its 34th year, the 性视界 Series brings distinguished lecturers and performing artists of national and international prominence to the 性视界 campus and Springfield community.
